A New Publication on Statistics and Data Science

Hi all! When Towards Data Science left Medium as a publication, I decided to make a Medium publication (Good Enough Statistics) about data science, statistics, etc., at least for my own posts on statistics—and hopefully yours!
This post answers two questions: “What is this publication about — what’s it cover?” and “How do I write for it?”.
What is Good Enough Statistics?
It only makes sense that a publication has some limits on what it publishes. The borders can be expansive, but at some point, you have to build that wa — let’s not strain the metaphor. So, here are the limits:
Good Enough Statistics (G.E.S.) has stories about statistics, data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and whatever newfangled word they come up with next for the old problem: what should we do with this data? What does it tell us? What does it all mean?

I’m Zach Flynn, an Economist and Data Scientist. I’ve worked around tech and currently work at Udemy (nothing related to this publication has anything to do with prior employers, future employers, or employers in parallel timelines — it is not their fault). How do I submit to G.E.S.?
If you are already a writer, submit unpublished drafts via the usual Medium process.
If you’d like to be added as a writer, please send an e-mail to goodenoughstatistics@gmail.com that follows the instructions:
Include “[AddMe]” in the subject.
Link to your Medium profile (with Medium ID).
Link to an unpublished draft you’d like me to consider for G.E.S. (Click the three little dots next to the Publish button and then… “Share draft link”)
My goal is to keep the average post quality high — except for my low-quality posts, of course. I’ll include those anyway—Editor’s prerogative. G.E.S. wants posts that say something new, or that say something well. If you have a post like that, submit it!
We accept both paywalled and un-paywalled submissions.
All posts should have a picture! It can be “abstract”. The picture doesn’t have to subtly nod to the post’s content. Tip: Use the handy-dandy Unsplash integration on Medium.
I hope you enjoy reading Good Enough Statistics and that it gives you some useful blog posts to throw in Slack — whether you find them interesting (best case) or you need them to establish to the boss that you are “proactive in pursuing professional development” (Good Enough).
